Woodlands sits on a wooded lot at the water's edge in St. Marys. It was set up as a small boarding facility rather than a large kennel, which shapes everything about how it feels: private suites instead of open runs, fenced yards under mature trees, and few enough dogs that the building stays quiet.

Inside

Every dog boards in a private indoor suite with comfortable bedding and fresh water. Basic suites are 4′×6′ or 3′×6′; the deluxe suite is our largest at 5′×6′ and includes a deluxe bed. Suites are cleaned between guests and maintained through each stay.

Because dogs rest in their own space between outdoor breaks, there is none of the constant barking that comes with open‑kennel layouts. Dogs from different families are never housed or played together, so the building stays calm even when it is full.

Outdoor areas are fully fenced and shaded by the pines and oaks that give the property its name. Dogs go out through the day for potty breaks and play, always with their own family only.

The lakefront setting is the reason the place exists. It is quiet, there is birdsong instead of traffic noise, and the water is a genuinely calming backdrop for dogs who find kennels stressful.

Monitoring, safety and cleanliness

Someone is always here

A caretaker is on site at all times, including overnight. Your dog is not left alone in the building at night.

Motion‑activated cameras

Cameras throughout the facility are motion activated, so we can check on the dogs at any time and respond quickly if something needs attention.

Secure fencing

Outdoor areas are fenced, and dogs move between suites and yards under supervision rather than being turned out unattended.

Insured

Woodlands Pet Retreat is an insured pet‑care business, which is worth confirming with any facility you are considering.

Vaccination requirements

Rabies, bordetella and DHLPP must be current for every dog, which protects all the guests staying here.

Emergency plan

If a dog needs urgent veterinary care, they go straight to Robinson's Animal Hospital in Yulee and we contact you as soon as possible.
